My 5,000th tweet: My twitter follow list explained
I like to explain myself, because I’m an understanding person provided I’m given something to understand. So with the motto, “Do unto others as you would have done unto to” as my base, I like to explain myself to whoever will listen1 in the hopes that others would do unto me2. To celebrate my 5,000th tweet I thought I would give you all an explanation for why I’m following who I’m following.
I can’t promise that this post is going to give you insight into who you should follow on twitter, but I can promise you that you will have a better understanding for the mind behind this fragile heart. And maybe, as a bonus, you can figure out who you should be following on twitter from that.

My dailies
These are people I talk to everyday when I get on twitter, my support line if you will. If any one of them were not on twitter on a given day they will be sorely missed3.

Bloggers
I’ve crossed paths with a lot of bloggers in my 10 years of blogging, some of them I’ve met through other social networks such as entrecard, CMF Ads, or something else. These are listed in somewhat of an order, those closer to the top I would consider putting in ‘My Dailies’ if only they’d tweet more often4! But don’t put too much stock into the order, its more like… the first half of the people below and then the other half ya know what I mean?
Celebrities
I wasn’t following any celebrities until a few days ago. And now I’m following 9! Ok you caught me… I’ve been following JoeQuesada for almost a month now. But come on, he’s the editor-in-cheif of Marvel Comics… how could *not* be following him? And then there’s darthvader… what can I say, the dark side is attractive. He doesn’t actually tweet that much though. TylerDurden on the other hand… I can’t seem to shut up.

Retail, or things I love
Do i really need to explain? Ok, fine. MECMountain is for Mountain Equipment Co-0p which is my favourite outdoor equipment/apparel store in the whole wide world. Reese designs gorgeous jewelry; H&M is one of my favourite trendy stores; Starbucks is my favourite coffee and HandbagHeaven I actually joined to try to win a contest but then I found out that there is a real person behind the account and she’s sweet!

Tools or social networks
CMFAds is a great advertising network started by some great friends of mine. You should really check them out, it’ll be worth your while.
20 something networks are nice especially since I won’t be 20-something for much longer 
Commentluv is a great wordpress plug-in and Andy Bailey, the genius behind it, is a sweetheart.
Quotweet tweets inspiring quotes daily 
Paperwhite is the twitter account for I Love You More Than Blank which is just an adorable site.
The last 5 are all things I use to help me with twitter: Spam is so you can report spammers who try to follow you on twitter, Qwitter emails you when someone stops following you, Mr. Tweet gives you recommendations for who to follow, tgadget is for the twittergadget I use while at work5, and of course twitter for updates!

My regular readers may have noticed that I didn’t post a Flickr Friday post today, there are a few reasons for this6:
- I had to make sure this post came out as my 5,000th tweet via Twitterfeed
- Its Friday the 13th and I wanted to do something different to ward off any evils that may be lurking around7.
- There wasn’t a suitable photo for this week!

Now that’s a hint I can understand — gracefully applies with a sledgehammer.
Which is good, because I’m not so good with picking up on the hints. When I look back now at the hints the girls dropped on me when I was in school, I’m amazed I didn’t notice the assorted crushed they had on me that never came to fruition. At least that’s what I tell myself. It’s good for the ego.

Awww Reggie, this is so sweet of you. I really enjoy our chats, or should I say our Tweets?
Having people like you, who actually interact and engage with followers, should give the “lurkers” something to think about.
Some of the people you’ve listed here I’ve seen around on various social networking sites, and some have commented on my blog before, but I didn’t know they had a Twitter account!
So now I have some work to do, going through your list and checking out all these people and possibly follow them too. Wow, the list of people I follow continues to grow, as does those who follow me.
FYI, I’ll be on and off Twitter for the next week cuz I’m going out town tomorrow morning on vacation. Talk to you again soon!
