New-ish Year, New Face; Thanks P&H Salon!

The first month of the year is almost over and I have been so busy enjoying my new face. You see, I’ve had acne for as long as I can remember. It seemed to take a hiatus while I was in my 20’s. Upon entering my late 20’s my hormones started doing all sorts of wonderful things for my acne. They’ve been having a party on my face. I can’t blame them, I hear it’s a nice face1.

I’ve tried a lot of different products but it felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. Then I got a call from a good friend of mine who has been going to P&H Salon for years.

She told me about a facial that Hana specializes in that was going to be the answer to my facial prayers (you know, if I prayed). I was wary at first. Mostly because I had never had a facial in my life2; but also because it sounded intense and scary. There was going to be a period of time when I wouldn’t be allowed to wash my face with water. Are you kidding me? I love water!

I decided I’d try the Natural Herbal Peel anyway though. Nothing else was working! It was even more intense than I imagined; there were times when my face was burning, there were times when my face was so raw, there were tears shed. But it was worth it. Worth it to have control over my acne.

I’m not going to lie to you, I’m still getting pimples but they are no where near as angry nor as abundant as they were before I started the treatment 4 months ago. Looking back, I’m not sure I would have gone through with the Natural Herbal Peel if Hana hadn’t been so great at telling exactly what I could expect when we had our first meeting.

Hana Giving me the low-down on the next few months

There were something like four facials, three extractions and a lot of at-home care that has taught me to take better care of the skin on my face. I didn’t know that I should be massaging lotion into my face! I didn’t know that I should be taking more time while washing my face so that the gel that I use actually has time to clean said face3!

For those of you who prefer to look at pictures than read my boring words:

Do you believe in ghosts?Ta da! Smoooooooth baby, smooth.

The Natural Herbal Peel from┬áP&H Salon changed my life; if you’re currently dealing with skin problems right now – go see Hana for a consult, at least.

You’re so worth it čśë

A challenge in hair

I haven’t done as much planning ahead as my life usually requires of me, purely because my current job requires me to do so much planning my head explodes before the day is over that I don’t want to do it anymore. But once a year, there is something that occurs that is just so much fun1 when I plan things out just right. And so I have created a challenge for myself. What is this task, you ask?

I want to create this do (or similar enough):

From this mop of hair:

but without cutting it.

I only need it to last one night, and I’ve gotten some pretty good up-dos down since I started wearing my hair curly. I’m pretty confident I can do it, even though I haven’t a clue where to begin2. I can’t promise I’m going to keep a proper diary of my trials, but I can say that I want to. Let’s see how it all goes.

Do you have any suggestions for me?

Proactiv® helped get rid of my pimples!

No really it did! And again, this isn’t a paid post.

I used to have really bad acne when I was a teenager. I also suffered from combination1 skin so I had to wash my face at least twice a day and moisturize each time. I also had to make sure I always had plenty of pimple zapper gel or cream around. For years, that was all I needed.

Travelling between Toronto and Dublin’s climates must have messed up my skin’s PH balance2 because I started breaking out like crazy. Nothing that I did seemed to get rid of them. I kept seeing these ads for Proactiv┬« solution3 and I decided I needed to change to a 3 step system too.

So I went out and bought some toner. I didn’t splurge; and I kept in line with the products I had already been using4. And it worked like a charm! And now, evertime I see those ads I’m so grateful I listened and switched to a 3 step system for battling pimples: wash, toner, and moisturizer. I still have to use pimple gel/cream sometimes but I’ve noticed that it seems to be more effective since I’ve started using toner.

And here I used to think it was just water.
