The grades were in at 8:00 a.m. and it’s official! I have an undergraduate degree. A Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in Human Resources. Not to mention my GPA for this semester was 3.0. Yeah, it’s expected but not when you’re taking 7 courses while planning the graduation formal and Editing a hefty publication used to promote graduates to the industry’s potential employers. I couldn’t believe it! Especially since I promised him that I would get three A’s this semester and I did… with one A+!
Oh I’m definitely happy today! Now if only I could figure out what happened this morning…
I woke up and looked over at my alarm clock, it was almost 10:45 a.m. but it was strangely dim behind my curtain. At least, it was dimmer than I expected it to be at 10:45 a.m, knowing that it was forcasted to be quite warm today. I checked my alarm, suddenly realized that I didn’t remember snoozing at all – I wasn’t that tired was I?!
So I got up and went to the washroom. Oh yeah, there’s the archie comic I read when I went to the bathroom before I went to bed last night. Before I went to bed… last… night? That’s strange. Didn’t anyone shower this morning?
I left the book on the ledge of the bathtub, in a place where if someone needed to have a shower they would’ve needed to move the book back onto the shelf. I was so confused, I still left it on the ledge when I went back to my room. I went online and checked my grades.
I don’t see it anywhere. Why can’t I find it? Did I NOT graduate? Check the ‘Academic Standing Report’: “You do not have access”
It was then that I looked at the bottom right corner of my screen. 6:37 a.m. I hadn’t realized how tense my shoulders had gotten until that moment. I quickly spun around and looked at my alarm clock 10:51 a.m. I couldn’t figure out how that happened. I swear it was the right time when I went to bed last night. But then I didn’t remember seeing what time it was on my computer when I went to bed last night. It could’ve been wrong when it said I was going to bed at 3:23 a.m. last night…
I felt like someone had played at April fool’s joke on me. In May. But since everyone was still sleeping at that point, I just went back to bed and closed my eyes but not before I changed my alarm clock to the right time. Now I remember snoozing and then finally waking up at 9:14 a.m.
